Safete Sophia Juka është ndër intelektualet e rralla shqiptare. E lindur në Shkodër, bijë e një prej familjeve intelektuale dhe kontribuese në themelimin e shtetit shqiptar, gjatë gjithë jetës duke vijuar në gjurmët e të parëve, iu kushtua me shpirt e zemër Kombit të saj. Është e para shqiptare që u doktorua shkëlqyeshëm në Universitetin e Sorbonës në drejtimin e Filozofisë. Ka qenë lektore në disa kolegje dhe universitete amerikane. Ka përgatitur dhe drejtuar programet e lëndëve për studimin e letërsisë dhe civilizimit francez të shekujve të 19- të dhe 20-të. Është autore e shumë artikujve studimorë dhe eseve të ndryshme botuar në gazeta dhe revista akademike, duke përfshirë të tilla si: Réalités, (G. Rouault, peíntre des âmes, Ecrits de Paris (Le myth de l’âge d’or et le mythe de la mémoire chez Mircea Eliade”), Revue de Métaphsyque et de Morale( L’humanien et l’absolu dans les Oles de Jean Greiner”), The French Review(J. Grenier romancier”) South Asian Review (“The Self in Marsel Prust’s Remembrance of Things Past”), Les Lettres Romanes (Christianisme et sentiment de la nature chez André Suarés et chez Georges Rouault. Ka botuar edhe një sërë artikujsh në mjaft revista dhe gazeta që u botuan nga shqiptarët e diasporës.
Ky punim kryesisht do të përqendrohet te monografia e zonjës Juka “KOSOVA- The Albanian in Yugoslavia in light of historical documents, (Kosova- Shqiptarët në Jugosllavi nën dritën e dokumenteve historike, botim i vitit 1984, nga Waldon Press, Inc, New York). Ky botim erdhi si rezultat i një pune të madhe të autores dhe kontribuoi në hedhjen dritë të shumë ngjarjeve dhe të vërtetave për Kombin tonë. Në hyrje të librit autorja ka vënë një shënim që e ka veçuar nga George Orwell, (Homazh për Katalonian), nga i cili kuptojmë se qëllimi i punës së saj ka qenë mbledhja dhe paraqitja e të dhënave të sakta për vuajtjet e Kosovës.

Safete Sophia Juka is among the rare Albanian intellectuals. Born in Shkodër, the daughter of one of the intellectual families that contributed to the establishment of the Albanian state, throughout her life following in the footsteps of her predecessors, she dedicated herself to her Nation with her heart and soul. She is the first Albanian to receive an excellent doctorate in Philosophy at the Sorbonne University. She has been a lecturer at several American colleges and universities. She prepared and directed the course programs for the study of French literature and civilization of the 19th and 20th centuries. She is the author of many research articles and various essays published in newspapers and academic journals, including such as; Réalités, (G. Rouault, peíntre des âmes, Ecrits de Paris (Le myth de l’âge d’or et le mythe de la mémoire chez Mircea Eliade”), Revue de Métaphsyque et de Morale( L’humanien et l’absolu dans les Oles de Jean Greiner”), The French Review(J. Grenier romancier”) South Asian Review (“The Self in Marsel Prust’s Remembrance of Things Past”), Les Lettres Romanes (Christianisme et sentiment de la nature chez André Suarés et chez Georges Rouault. She has also published a number of articles in many magazines and newspapers that were published by Albanians in the diaspora.
This paper will mainly focus on Mrs. Juka’s monograph “KOSOVA- The Albanian in Yugoslavia in light of historical documents, (Kosova- Albanians in Yugoslavia in the light of historical documents, 1984 edition, by Waldon Press, Inc, New York) . This publication came as a result of a great work of the author and contributed to shedding light on many events and truths about our Nation. In the introduction of the book, the author has put a note that distinguishes it from George Orwell, (Homage for Catalonia), from which we understand that the purpose of her work was to collect and present accurate data about the sufferings of Kosova.
